General Summary:

Welder Position is responsible for the welding of products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as requested or required.

• Welding and finish operations.
• Do key flow on computer for change orders to add or delete parts as needed.
• Ensure that all hot job orders are done first.
• Check paperwork to ensure that specification sheets are correct for operation.
• Other duties as requested or required.

Education/Experience:

High school education or general education development (GED), and minimum of one to three months job-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Reasoning development to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions relating to standardized situations.
• Mathematical development to perform the four basic arithmetic operations.
• Language development
• Read and interpret safety rules, instructions, manuals, order forms, or checklists
• Write routine reports and correspondence
• Communicate effectively with coworkers
• Basic knowledge of the use and operation of all welding tools, hand tools, air tools, and computers. Must be responsible for various types of weld preparation with a working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.

• Must be able to walk on level surface to perform duties 10% of time.
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach, lean 75% of time.
• Must be able to stoop, crouch, or crawl 5% of time.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms; and/or use hands to feel or handle 100% of time.

Physical Dimensions:

The employee is required to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally (must request help when handling this weight); and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 30 pounds of force regularly.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of injury in an office environment and occasionally a manufacturing shop plant environment.  Duties include a typical office setting including extensive computer work, sitting or standing.
